The village of Kám is located in Vas County, in the western region of Hungary. The Jeli Botanical Garden just off of the village draws many visitors during the season when the rodendoron is in bloom.
The 74-hectar park is Hungary's largest botanic garden, established by count Istvan Ambrozy-Migazzi in 1922. In choosing the right location, he took into account the soil texture as well as the co-existence of the Sub-alpine and the Mediterranean climate, which are highly favored by evergreens. After the count passed away during the Second World War, the park was neglected for a time. The 1960's marked the beginning of the park's revival. A legion of woodmen and botanists planted new trees in thematic arrangement, displaying representative vegetation of China, Japan, America, and part of Asia.
Kám falu Vas megye, a nyugati régióban található. A falu mellett elhelyezkedő Jeli Botanikus Kert számos látogatót vonz a szezonban, amikor a fodróda virágzik.
